Another thing my doctor said is that I should walk fast for 30 minute or even run so that hte heart has to work harder. I told her that I work hard and she agreed, but still. Why is that?
Yes, running is healthy because it can improve your cardiovascular health, build muscle and bone, and reduce your risk of injury. It can also boost your mental health and brain function.
Physical health benefits
Cardiovascular health: Running can reduce your risk of death from cardiovascular disease.
Bone strength: Running is a weight-bearing exercise that can help build strong bones.
Muscle strength: Running uses many muscles in your lower body, including your glutes, hamstrings, quadriceps, and calves.
Weight management: Running can help you maintain a healthy weight.
Mental health benefits
Brain function
Running can improve your brain's ability to process and absorb information.
Mental clarity
Running can help you achieve a steady rhythm of breath and heart rate, which can lead to mental clarity.
Cardiovascular health is the health of your heart and blood vessels. A healthy cardiovascular system allows your heart to pump oxygen and nutrients throughout your body.
